The Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2020 has named Dr Emma Black of Cascade Cash Management as its North East Start Up Entrepreneur of the Year.
Announced at a cleverly configured online ceremony and celebration, Dr Emma won the award from stiff competition, after being nominated by her marketing consultant Antonia Brindle of Get Brindled. At the awards, 135 awards were handed out to 135 founders of 110 businesses across 15 categories and eight regions as the Covid-19 pandemic forced GBEA to take the regional finals online for the first time.
The Start-up Entrepreneur of the Year Award reaches out to those who have given everything to guiding their business through those all-important nascent stages. The category description stated that the winner ‘will have responded to the many inevitable drawbacks with an attitude that feels for the best in every situation with a heart that will not give up’.
Dr Emma said: “I was delighted to be shortlisted and especially in such good company as Super U, Breathe + Protect and Artisan Food & Drink Associates who were up for the same award. I knew the work we had done was worthy of winning, but you always look at competitors and think they are amazing, which is why it was such a wonderful feeling to win!”
