Park Electrical Distributors has, for the 15th year, supported the festive activities of the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) by taking four tables at its annual Christmas lunch.
The EIC helps provide financial grants and assistance to current and retired colleagues who are currently, or have previously, worked in the electrical and energy sectors and their family members.
Established 100 years ago, it supports the industry with apprentice programmes and employee and family support.
The EIC has active regional committees all over the UK organising events for the charity. Park Electrical Distributors has supported the North East committee for a number of years and has donated over £2,000 by taking four tables at its annual Christmas lunch.
Rachel Wilkinson, communications manager at Park, said: “As the North East’s largest independent electrical wholesaler, supporting the industry in which we operate is high on our agenda.
“We have a strong working relationship with the EIC’s North East chair, Fred Dickinson and we are very pleased to support him and the charity with its good work.
“The Christmas lunch was an opportunity for colleagues from across our five branches to mix outside of work whilst supporting a good cause.”
Fred Dickinson, said: “By getting to know Park through business, its senior team became aware of my role as regional chair of the EIC and have very kindly leant their support over the years to a charity that does so much for our industry.”
