Gillian Greaves, Manager at Sanderson Young’s Alnwick Branch, has many years’ experience of the housing market and is pleased to reveal how the demand for ‘prime property’ in Bamburgh and other popular coastal areas on the Northumberland Heritage Coastline has exceeded all expectations.
“We recently acted for three clients in the village of Bamburgh, each of them with a different style of house, and achieved magnificent premiums well beyond historic data, comparable information and current asking prices. The properties included a fabulous conversion, two bedroom apartment; a magnificent five bedroom ‘New England’ style detached house; and a fabulous three bedroom link bungalow, close by to the dunes and the beach. Each of the properties received multiple viewings and offers and interest was so high, that we allowed ‘best and final’ offers to be placed within a short period of time. The purchasers are particularly keen to invest in this location at the moment and we have seen unprecedented demand, in particular for Bamburgh, but also the other popular coastal villages from Holy Island down to Alnmouth and beyond this in Warkworth and Amble, where new buyers are being registered who are keen to see coastal properties and potentially second homes close to beaches and beautiful walks.
Heather Armstrong, our local Valuer in Alnwick, explained it is becoming increasingly difficult to value accurately, because of the data moving so quickly and the demand outstripping the supply. We always make sure that our clients are aware that we will maximise their price through our marketing methods, and we are convinced that through providing a full and proper Estate Agency service we reach out to as many buyers as possible and achieve the maximum price for our clients.”
As the spring weather continues to improve and brighter days lie ahead, there is no doubt that Sanderson Young’s Alnwick Office is experiencing tremendous interest in the Northumberland Heritage Coastline.
