Digital marketing agency Mediaworks has taken their apps Down Under in support of Perth's The Big Splash art trail
A number of global brands have made Mediaworks their chosen digital partner. We’ve launched campaigns everywhere from France and Spain to the USA and UAE-and this month, we’ve ventured even further; Australia.
Back in 2016, we worked with St Oswald’s Hospice to create an app to support the Great North Snowdogs art trail. The app was hugely successful in helping visitors engage with the pop-up Snowdog sculpture trail, achieving over 11,000 downloads and more than 2.5 million interactions.
The success of the app has led to us partnering with Wild In Art, a creative producer of massappeal public art events. Recognising the impact a supplementary app could have for trail engagement and charity fundraising, we worked to create a base app with modular components and functionality that could be reskinned and deployed for each new trail. Having these base elements to hand minimises the development time required and reduces the final cost to the charities.
This base functionality included find, unlock and vote features as standard, while the bespoke CMS meant we could expand this capability according to the trail’s size and budget. For example, for Birmingham’s The Big Sleuth trail app, we incorporated a pedometer, JustGiving connectivity and a community gallery.
The latest addition to our Wild In Art app portfolio is in support of The Big Splash, the charity art trail that is currently taking over Perth, Australia. The trail of dolphin sculptures has been created to raise awareness and funds in support of Perth Children’s Hospital’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health unit.
The app has been built with map functionality to help trail visitors find the dolphins, track their progress and unlock the sculptures to access rewards. It recently launched on the App Store and Google Play, and we anticipate that the app will enjoy similar success to our other trail apps.
Following the release of this trail app in Australia, we are preparing to launch an app to support The Big Hoot trail in Auckland, New Zealand.
Mediaworks’ Managing Director, Brett Jacobson, said: “As our partnership with Wild In Art continues, we’re proud to help charities across the globe maximise the impact their fundraising efforts have. With an app in place, we hope The Big Splash will raise plenty of vital funds to help support Perth Children’s Hospital’s fantastic work.”
